Managing Challenges With Workout Videos
Your license includes access to high-quality workout videos produced and delivered by certified trainers. This article describes how to create and manage a Video Workout challenge. The library of available videos will continuously change. During the creation process, you will be prompted to select the library or libraries you want to include in the leaderboard.
Creating a Workout Video Challenge
To create a Workout Video leaderboard, Navigate to the LEADERBOARD group in the Admin tool. Then:
- Select the + ADD button.
- Select the Workout Videos leaderboard option.
- Select whether you want this leaderboard to be active during your entire challenge or during some other time that is inclusive of your event's date. If selecting the latter, enter the start and end date.
- Select whether you want to allow users to access videos in any order they choose or if you want them to follow the built-in order as intended by the publisher. If you select the latter, videos will be made available to participants over time depending on the number of videos in the library and the length of time that the leaderboard is active.
- Select Choose a video collection to select the videos you want to offer to participants.
- Once you select a family of videos (e.g., Stretch, Mindfulness, Core), you will then have the option to choose all or some of the videos in that family for your challenge. If you choose to have videos released over time, by default, we will preselect a subset of videos based on the available time period of your challenge. You always have the option to override our selection.
- Once your videos are selected and you CONFIRM your selection(s), we will prefill the leaderboard name for you. You can change the name at that time or later if you choose. Select CREATE CHALLENGE to create the leaderboard.
Once you assign a library of videos to a leaderboard you cannot change them. If you decide you want to use a different library, you should delete the leaderboard you created and start a new one.
Managing a Workout Video Challenge
You can change and customize some of the settings for your Workout Video Leaderboard using the leaderboard EDIT function. Explore this link to our leaderboard Knowledge Base articles to learn more.
Note that each workout a participant completes is represented as a badge for the leaderboard. If you make any changes to the badges in your Workout Video leaderboard, including deleting them, you will change the logical flow of your leaderboard.
Best Practices for Conducting a Challenge with Video Workouts
Here are some best practices for organizers running an event that includes workout videos:
- Clearly Communicate Expectations and Goals – Ensure participants understand the challenge objectives, whether it's improving strength, increasing daily activity, or managing stress.
- Encourage Consistency with a Schedule – Provide a suggested workout plan or calendar to help participants stay on track. This is supported through the setup option that releases videos over time.
- Promote Interaction and Motivation – Promote the feed so users can share experiences, ask questions, and encourage each other.
- Make Workouts Accessible – Our videos are available on all devices supported by our app. You can also consider group activities in which you announce and schedule a conference room or some other open space.
- For Group Workouts, Make Claiming of Achievements Simple – If you're going to support group viewing of a workout, users will need to manually claim the badge for that workout. You can easily support this by displaying the custom QR code for the badge after your session is over. The QR code is available in the Badges section of the Leaderboard in the admin tool.
- Recognize and Celebrate Milestones – Acknowledge participant achievements through the leaderboards, badges, and feed.
- Encourage Habit Formation – Provide tips on incorporating workouts into daily routines for long-term fitness success after your challenge is complete.
- Gather Feedback and Improve – After the challenge, collect participant feedback to enhance future challenges.
