Differences between Profiles and Registration Data
The system works with Registration Data and User Profiles. There are important differences between the two.
A Profile contains all activities and details of a user, across all events the user might participate in. A profile is always created by the user itself. This data is visible from within the Users page in the Event Manager. Some profiles are manually created with a username and passwords while others are created in the background when the user connects with an external authentication method (such as Garmin).
Registration Data is specific and isolated to one specific event and is never used outside the context of that specific event. Registration Data is typically managed and uploaded by the organization and may be synced automatically. This information can be viewed, uploaded, and managed from the Registrations page in the Event Manager.
The personal verification code is used to connect a specific profile with a specific registration record. This is why it's important that each code is unique and can only be used once.
